It’s been 25 years since Tony and Katwyn Liberti set out to create a business that provides people with what they too often lack: a chance to leave the stresses of life behind and just have fun. With the success of SpaceWalk Orlando and, starting in 2012, Fun Crew USA, the pair feel they have accomplished that goal.
Fun Crew USA offers the chance to rent every type of entertainment attraction you need for a fantastic carnival, festival, school event, corporate party – you name it, they can do it. But it’s not just a successful business. It’s also the culmination of Tony and Katwyn’s commitment to providing attractions that give people a chance to simply enjoy themselves.
“We have never lost sight of the ultimate goal,” says Tony. “If we can provide an awesome event that happens to take all the bad thoughts, stresses, or worries away for even a few hours, how much better off is the world? Better yet. How much better is your own personal life?
“Sometimes that little break is all people need to stop and realize that not everything is all bad. If we can touch those lives daily, then we truly did a good thing in this world.”
The pair’s foray into the world of entertainment attractions began just to make “food money.” At the time, Tony worked as an accountant and Katwyn was a stay-at-home Mom. She started the rental business as a side business. It quickly grew from three bounce houses and a dunk tank into 15 attractions, then 40, then 75. It now has a large catalog of attractions for every type of event.
The couple’s first business was SpaceWalk Orlando. In 2012, they took a “leap of faith” and invested in a mobile zipline. It became so popular they had to add more attractions to meet the demand. That same year, they founded Fun Crew USA, which offers extreme attractions, midway game trailers, inflatable slides, obstacle courses, glow furniture, carnival games and concessions, an electronic arcade, and LED Glow Games. And they still offer bounce houses (but many more than three!). Based in Orlando, Fun Crew USA provides attractions for clients across the Southeast.
They also have become experts in the field. Tony has now earned Level 1 ride inspector certification from NAARSO (National Association of Amusement Ride Safety Officials), a designation that signifies achieving a high level of knowledge and skills about amusement ride operations and mechanics. To further the company’s growth, Tony has also joined the AIMS International Safety Seminar in 2024 and has already achieved a Level 2 inspector certification as well. Katwyn, who had the original vision for the company, continues to lead the organization as Chief Operating Officer.
They’re supported by a professional team that focuses on areas such as warehouse and office management, customer service, and ride inspections.
Fun Crew USA also has created many memorable moments – too many to count. But some will stay with them forever. That includes the time they gave an elderly blind person the chance to drive a car for the first time in the bumper cars attraction. He cried as he thanked them for giving him that experience.
They also keep the thank you letter they received from the family of a five-year-old Make a Wish child who died just three days after she got the one thing she wanted — a pink castle bounce house party.
“If you know who we are, you know we do not do this for the money,” says Tony. “The money is a vehicle that allows us to do what we love. You must have a passion for wanting to bring joy to people.”
